Serbian Minister of International Economic Relations Predrag Bubalo met yesterday with Austrian Vice Chancellor and Minister of Transport, Innovation and Technology Hubert Gorbach, Carinthia Governor Joerg Haider, Austrian Ambassador to Belgrade Hannes Porias and a number of Austrian businessmen and representatives of Austria’s state administration.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of International Economic Relations, both Ministry officials and the Austrian delegation members accepted a Minister’s proposal to set up a joint business council and a working group for transport.
The working group will comprise Serbian Deputy Minister of Transport Miodrag Jocic, Assistant Minister Branislav Boskovic, special advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister Zaneta Ostojic and Austrian Ambassador Hannes Porias.
Austrian businessmen are interested in cooperating with Serbian companies and are ready to make direct investment as well, said Bubalo.
Do far, 141 Austrian firms have established presence in Serbia, including three large banks, the statement said.
