Markovic to submit ratification instrument for European Charter on local self-government in Strasbourg

Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Milan Markovic will submit the ratification instrument for the European Charter on Local Self-Government at the headquarters of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on September 6.

Markovic travelled to Strasbourg at the invitation of the Council of Europe's Secretary-General Terry Davis.
In Strasbourg Markovic will meet with Secretary General of the Council of Europe's Congress of Local and Regional Authorities Urlich Boner, Deputy Secretary of the Venice Commission Thomas Markert and the Director General for Democracy and Political Affairs.
Serbian parliament initialled the European Charter on Local Self-Government at a session held on July 23 this year, it is added in the statement.
