Serbian Minister of Trade and Services Predrag Bubalo met with new Turkish Minister of Industry and Services Zafer Cag-Layan on September 1 in Izmir, at whose invitation he attended the 76th international fair “Izmir 2007”.
The Ministry of Trade and Services says in a statement that the meeting concerned the development of bilateral economic relations, particularly the exchange of goods and further activities on concluding the free trade agreement.
Cag-Layan showed interest in Serbia’s talks with the EU and said that the free trade agreement between Serbia and Turkey must accompany the development of trade relations with the EU.
Minister Bubalo also had separate meetings with other officials visiting Izmir, such as Angolan Minister of Trade Joaquim Icuma Muafumba and Chinese Deputy Minister of Trade Ma Siu Hong.
Bubalo also visited two large companies seated in Izmir, namely the Tuntas Group and Damat, which have already done business with Serbian companies, adds the statement.
