Serbian Minister of Labour and Social Policy and President of the National Council for Cooperation with ICTY Rasim Ljajic met today with the European Parliament’s Rapporteur for Serbia Jelko Kacin and briefed him on the measures Serbia is taking to conclude cooperation with the Tribunal and stressed that Serbia is resolved to locate, arrest and extradite the indictees as soon as possible.

The ministry says in a statement that Kacin endorsed Serbia’s efforts in this matter and voiced pleasure at the progress it achieved regarding cooperation with ICTY.
He said he expects that Serbia will fulfil all its obligations by year’s end and praised the expertise of the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor’s Office in processing very difficult and sensitive cases.
Ljajic stressed that once Serbia makes it to the white Schengen list, it will be of great help to it in its EU accession process since the citizens would immediately feel the advantages of the EU integrations.
