According to the statement, the main aim of the project, which is being implemented by the Health Ministry and the European Agency for Reconstruction, is to provide support to regional health centres in opening and organizing work in preventive health care centres.
The preventive health care centres were formed in 25 regional health centres which will be used exclusively by healthy members of the population who wish to assess the condition of their health.
All preventive health care centres in Serbia are equipped to provide telephone advice, emergency care and have a mobile team. Services of general practitioners have also been engaged.
Centres for preventive health care have opened so far in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Sombor, Pancevo, Kikinda, Sabac, Sremska Mitrovica, Zrenjanin, Subotica, Pozarevac, Valjevo, Cacak, Kragujevac, Cuprija, Kraljevo, Leskovac, Vranje, Pirot, Zajecar and Uzice.
