According to a statement by the ministry, the subject of the meeting was the possibility of widening of trade cooperation between Serbia and Belarus, which is currently at a low level considering the potential of the two countries, especially in the areas of metal industry, tractor production and the chemicals and pharmaceuticals industry.
Agreement was reached at the meeting to continue the work of expert groups for drafting an agreement on free trade between Serbia and Belarus, in September this year in Minsk. It was also decided that the fourth session of the intergovernmental joint committee for trade and economic cooperation between Serbia and Belarus will be held in Belgrade, by the end of October this year, where all issues important for increasing mutual trade will be examined.
Ambassador Matskevich presented a list of Belarus companies which are interested in finding potential partners in Serbia, and announced that a trade and economic delegation from Belarus will visit Serbia in September, concludes the statement.
