The National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY) held its 5th session today and passed decisions to send documentation to the Hague Tribunal’s prosecution, in line with its nine requests, and to relieve two witnesses of their obligation to keep official secrets, for the purposes of this court’s proceedings.
Ten requests of the defence, which referred to documentation needed for the preparation of indictees’ defence before the Hague Tribunal and the release of the witnesses’ obligation to keep official secrets, were granted affirmative answers.
The National Council will in the upcoming period hold regular sessions every second week and will duly respond to the requests of both the prosecution and defence at the ICTY.
