Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns statement by Albanian President

The Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has severely condemned the statement by Albanian President Bamir Topi which prejudices the issue of Kosovo-Metohija and supports independence for the province.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the statement by the Albanian President that the issue of the future status of Kosovo-Metohija should be resolved as soon as possible and that Albanian institutions support Pristina in the process of determining the status of the province is absolutely unacceptable.
Such a statement brings Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity as an internationally recognised country and UN member into question, and does not contribute to strengthening good neighbourly relations and much needed regional stability, concludes the statement.
