Serbia, Montenegro sign Memorandum of Understanding on environmental protection

Belgrade/Podgorica, 1 August 2007

Serbian Minister of Environmental Protection Sasa Dragin and Montenegrin Minister of Tourism and Environmental Protection Predrag Nenezic signed today in Podgorica a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in environmental protection.

The Serbian Ministry of Environmental Protection says in a statement that Dragin said environmental protection is an area in which man must think globally and act locally.

He voiced pleasure that the two ministries have confirmed this rule and are striving towards the most positive European and international standards in this sector.

Dragin announced that Serbia and Montenegro will in future cooperate on the implementation of positive European regulations and joint projects on environmental protection, therefore much deeper and broader cooperation may be anticipated.
