China endorses sustainable, compromise based solution for Kosovo

Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic received today Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Guobang to discuss bilateral relations between the two states and the current situation concerning the resolution of the future status of Kosovo-Metohija.
Jeremic repeated that Serbia supports the One-China policy, which defines Taiwan as the integral part of that country and that it considers the Chinese government as the only government of the Chinese people.
He added that Serbia supports China's principled policy that leads to cooperation and peaceful unification of the country.
At the same time, Jeremic underlined that Serbia does not endorse the intention of Taiwan authorities to call a referendum on the initiative for UN membership since that could harm the peace and stability on both sides of the Taiwan Straits.
Guobang said that China endorses a compromise based and sustainable solution for Kosovo-Metohija acceptable for both sides and informed the Serbian Foreign Minister about latest developments concerning Taiwan.
The Chinese Ambassador invited Jeremic to make an official visit to China, which Jeremic accepted with pleasure, reads the statement by the Serbian Foreign Ministry.
He added that Serbia supports China's principled policy that leads to cooperation and peaceful unification of the country.
