The Committee adopted the working plan for 2007.
At the meeting held at the Serbian government, the Committee made preparations for Serbia's participation at the closing ceremony of Universiade in Bangkok to be held on July 19 this year, at which Serbia will take over the Universiade flag and present its artistic performance.
The 2007 financial plan worth RSD 453 million was also adopted, of which RSD 260 million are financed from the Serbian budget, RSD 150 million from the budget of the City of Belgrade, and the balance by donors and sponsors.
Special attention was paid to reconstruction and construction of necessary sport facilities and of the Olympic Village and it was agreed that those works should be accelerated. It is planned to coordinate logistic and technical preparations for Universiade and 2008 Eurosong so that costs are kept low
The Universiade in Belgrade will be held from July 1 to 12, 2009 and it is expected to gather 170 countries and some 11,000 contestants in 21 sport disciplines, thus making Universiade the greatest sporting event in Serbia's history.
