The statement adds that at the three-day event, the following Serbian companies will exhibit their products: Arex, Agranela, Marni, Igda, Pionir, Navip, Simex, Wolf, Foodex and Foodland. They will show their marzipan products, dried fruit, forest mushrooms, wines, brandies, ajvar and jams.
The sponsor of the Serbian companies’ participation in the New York fair is the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management with SIEPA’s support.
The Serbian companies will exhibit their products at a joint national stand under the slogan “The Natural Choice Pavilion” which will span 170 square metres.
According to assessments of last year’s visitors, Serbia’s 2006 stand was the most beautiful at the fair and it attracted an extraordinary number of buyers from abroad who were mostly interested in mushrooms, truffles, jams, ajvar, slivovitz and wines from Serbia.
Over 2,200 companies from 71 countries took part in the previous fair and presented 170,000 products. Serbian companies signed agreements last year worth $6.5 million.
The position of Serbian food producers in the North American and international markets has become pretty firm and stable, which will have a positive effect on this year’s participation of Serbian companies, adds the statement.
