With this decision, based on a convention signed with Eurocontrol on July 1, 2005, Serbia enters the single system and gets fully integrated into this European organisation as a state whose aviation authority is based on EU principles and standards.
In this way, Serbia has made a significant step forward in the accession to the EU.
By joining this single system of payment, Serbia is obliged to apply European regulations which secure a safe, efficient and ecologically clean air space and to set prices for air traffic on the basis of EU standards.
The Eurocontrol's Committee has made a decision for the first time in its practice that Serbia and Montenegro, as two independent states, have a common price for route compensations, the statement adds.
