Djelic said at a joint press conference held with Kacin that the European parliament decided to speed up the evaluation of the progress made in Serbia and it will discuss the subject in October on the basis of the report on cooperation with the Hague tribunal.
During the meeting with Kacin, it was agreed that the Serbian government will submit detailed report to the European parliament within the next two weeks on the results of its work during the first month of its mandate.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that it was agreed on in the meeting that the European parliament rapporteur will visit Serbia quarterly in order to promote dialogue between Serbia and this EU institution, noting that this is the best way to speed up the EU integration process.
Kacin said that Serbia is capable of completing the SAA negotiations but on condition of completing full cooperation with The Hague.
He said that he is satisfied with Serbia’s plans for implementation of reforms and noted that all parties in Serbia have a huge responsibility and opportunity to help the government achieve the goal, which is to institutionally place Serbia in the EU, where it always belonged.
Kacin recalled that the government will resume the SAA talks with European Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn on condition of full cooperation with the Hague tribunal.
