Serbian Minister of Youth and Sports Snezana Markovic-Samardzic and UN Resident Coordinator Lance Clark opened today the workshop “Youth and Millennium Development Goals” whose aim is to raise awareness among the youth on the role and importance of these goals in Serbia.

Samardzic-Markovic said that the adoption of the youth strategy is one of the main priorities for the Ministry and that this document should be formed through dialogue and cooperation with youth.
According to her, the document should be binding and successfully applicable.
She noted that young people had the knowledge and initiative and deserve the credit for setting up the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Clark said that efforts should continue in order to provide full social inclusion of youth. He also hailed the adoption of the National framework for millennium goals.
Over 50 young people from various student and youth NGO’s and representatives of political parties are participating in the workshop.
