According to the statement one of the subjects to be discussed at the meeting will be the 57th session of the WHO Regional Committee in Belgrade, which will be held from September 17 to 20 2007.
The World Health Assembly will meet in Geneva from May 14 to 23, which Assistant Minister Simic will attend as member of the delegation, and the Assembly will examine subjects such as the avian-flu epidemic and preparation of vaccines, international health legislation, public health – innovations and intellectual property rights, the issue of immigration of health workers on the international level, the global plan of action for fight against cancer and safe maternity.
The permanent committee of the WHO Regional Committee is the basic body which coordinates the work of the Regional Committee for Europe. Resolutions and strategies of the WHO are obligatory for member countries, and Serbia too is incorporating them in its programmes and activities, reads the statement.
