Unions play important role in further reform implementation

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica talked today with delegations of the Council of Independent Unions of Serbia and the Nezavisnost union and stressed that unions must have an important role in the society regarding further reform implementation.
Kostunica extended good wishes to union representatives regarding the upcoming May 1st holiday – the International Workers’ Day. He also said he is pleased with the cooperation with unions and that in the upcoming period more attention should be paid to the drafting of a social pact.
Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Policy Slobodan Lalovic also attended the meeting at which union representatives said that cooperation with the government and the resource ministry is satisfactory and that there are possibilities for improving the social dialogue.
The collocutors agreed that it is important that union representatives and the government regularly communicate and resolve problems through partner relations.
