Serbian Minister of Interior Dragan Jocic on behalf of the Serbian government signed today in Budapest a memorandum of understanding on preventing illegal migration between the Hungarian ministries of justice and interior and interior ministries of western Balkan countries.
Jocic signed the document in a
ministerial conference of interior ministers of western Balkan countries that is taking place in Budapest as part of the Budapest forum.
The aim of the forum is defining the fields and forms of cooperation in fighting illegal migration and border management, and the signing of this memorandum and development of the system for communication and exchange of information on illegal migration in western Balkans will contribute to development of more efficient methods for prevention of illegal migrations, as a form of organised crime.
The signing of this document is yet another form of expression of Serbia's commitment to cooperation with neighbouring countries through joint border control and suppression of all forms of organised crime in the region.
