The Serbian Ministry of the Diaspora launched an initiative to change and amend the current Law on Election of Deputies, which will give the Serbian citizens abroad the right to vote by mail.
“This type of voting provides the possibility for a greater number of voters to cast their ballots by mail. It is incomparably cheaper both for the state and the voters abroad,” said Minister for the Diaspora Vojislav Vukcevic.
The commentary to this initiative was forwarded to the Serbian Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government. These changes will satisfy the claims of many of our expatriates, the Minister said adding that the experiences of other countries as well as the recent presidential election in Serbia pointed to the advantages of voting by mail, the Ministry of the Diaspora stated today.
