Serbian Minister of International Economic Relations Milan Parivodic said that Serbia, together with Greece, aims to become a leading industrial country in the Balkans within the next ten years.

In a statement to the Viennese daily Die Presse, Parivodic stressed that the economic situation in Serbia is good and pointed to the facts that average annual economic growth is some 5.5% and the GDP has increased by three times from $1,400 per capita to $4,300 per capita from 2000 until now.
He said that foreign investments in Serbia have increased from $1 billion in 2004 to $5.5 billion during last year, and he recalled that from 2002 to 2006 Austria invested €1.5 billion in Serbia.
