Government will protect rights and interests of workers in RTB privatisation process

Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Policy Slobodan Lalovic met today with a delegation of independent trade union of metal workers of RTB Bor.
The trade unions expressed doubt that the first ranked bidder will successfully manage the company and demanded that further sale of the company be stopped.
Participants of the meeting agreed that the adopted social welfare programme is very good, but the trade unions expressed doubt that it will be implemented.
On that occasion, members of the trade union of metal workers were informed that the government, by securing the respect for the provisions of the contract, will protect the rights and interests of the workers in the privatisation process.
Trade union members were also informed that Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica will be acquainted with the positions of trade union members and they will be given answers to questions made concerning the privatisation of RTB Bor very soon, the statement adds.
