Butterflies from Solomon Islands seized on border crossing

The Serbian Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection stated that the Inspection for Environmental Protection confiscated a delivery from Solomon Islands with 98 butterflies worth €10,000.
As the delivery was without appropriate documentation, it was confiscated at the Belgrade customs office.
The butterflies belong to the list of Appendix II of the Convention International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).
