The National Council responded positively to 13 requests made by defence attorneys of the accused concerning the submitting of documentation necessary for preparing defence of the accused before the ICTY.
Out of 13 requests, 4 concerned the documentation necessary for preparing the defence of Vojislav Seselj. The requests were submitted between February 1 and March 5 this year.
Concerning the allegations that appeared recently in the media concerning the submitting of documentation related to the case of Vojislav Seselj, the National Council informs the public that since December 16, 2004, when the conclusion was adopted that all documentation that is submitted to the ICTY Prosecutor's Office concerning the case of Vojislav Seselj, should also be submitted to the expert team for the preparation of his defence, the Council has acted in line with this conclusion and submitted all the documentation requested by the ICTY Prosecutor's Office to the defendant as well in the shortest time possible and it will continue to do so.
As it has been the case so far, the National Council will continue to respond to requests of the ICTY Prosecutor's Office and defence attorneys in order to carry out full cooperation and meet international obligations it assumed before this court.
