Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica sent Russian President Vladimir Putin a letter of condolence following a tragic accident in Siberian coal mine Ulyanovskaya and a fire that broke out in a home for the elderly in Yeisk.

“Dear Mr. President, accept my deepest sympathy following two accidents that almost simultaneously struck Russia – in the Siberian coal mine of Ulyanovskaya and in the home for the elderly in Yeisk.
The Serbian people in its deep spiritual and brotherly connection with the Russian people today mourns most candidly with you, with the families of innocent victims as well as with all citizens of your big country in grief for the sudden and tragic deaths of your compatriots.
I bid you to convey our deepest sympathies to the bereaved families,” the letter of the Prime Minister reads.
