As a signatory of the Convention, he State Union of Serbia and Montenegro has been engaged in ICDPR projects and activities since 2003 and the Day of the Danube will be marked on a national level and in cities on the river: Apatin, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Grocka, and Smederevo.
The Serbian Directorate for Water Resources, part of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, will organise a series of exhibitions, working tables, workshops, and other activities to inform the public on basic characteristics of the Danube and its basin and to stress the importance of the preservation and protection of the quality of its water.
The central celebration will take place in Belgrade on June 29.
