The Serbian Ministry of the Diaspora has sent letters to the European Union, the US, and the Canadian embassies to Belgrade, asking them to invite their respective governments to liberalise of suspend visa regime for Serbian citizens.

Political and economic conditions have stabilised, paving the way for Serbia-Montenegro to be included in the so-called “white list,” the Ministry said.
The move would encourage the majority of Serbian citizens who support a democratic and pro-European policy, the letter said. It would also help bolster ties between Serbia and its Diaspora, and relations between Serbs living abroad and the states they live in.
Diaspora issues call for active participation of the Serbian government, the Serbian Diaspora and the states in which Serbs live, said the letter signed by Minister of the Diaspora Vojislav Vukcevic.
