UN to help implement witness protection law

Serbian Minister of Justice Zoran Stojkovic spoke today with Assistant UN Secretary-General and Deputy Prosecutor of the Special Court for Sierra Leone Desmond de Silva and UN Resident Coordinator in Serbia-Montenegro Francis O’Donnell.
The participants in the meeting agreed on the UN’s assistance in the incorporation of a law on protection of witnesses in criminal proceedings into the Serbian legal system. The assistance will be provided through participation of UN legal experts and specialised organisations, according to a statement form the ministry.
