The meeting focused on environmental reforms, transport and energy issues. Serbian government experts presented the progress achieved in harmonisation and implementation of laws in these sectors.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Environmental Protection Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, Fund for Environmental Protection, Water Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the EU Integration Office.
In separate meetings, representatives of the Ministry of Capital Investment talked with European Commission experts on policies in the transport sector, institutional capacities and harmonisation of laws in this area and policies for goods and passenger transport.
During the meeting they also discussed privatisation and restructuring of rail way traffic, practical implementation of the agreement on the Joint European Airspace, as well as plans for programming and financing road infrastructure.
They also looked at the progress of reforms in the energy sector, primarily the development of the interior energy market, the implementation of the Agreement on the Single Energy Market in Southeast Europe, the promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources in Serbia, as well as nuclear safety and radiation protection, adds the statement.
