Swedish Ambassador in Serbia Lars-Goran Engfeldt said today in talks with Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Radomir Naumov that Sweden and Serbia realised best and most fruitful economic cooperation in the energy sector during the previous three years.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Energy and Mining, Serbia and Sweden signed last year a Memorandum of Understanding that includes cooperation in areas of sustainable development of electric energy and environmental protection.
This international document makes it possible to establish direct cooperation between leading Swedish and Serbian energy companies, and financing of projects through the Nordic Investment Bank.
Engfeldt who paid a farewell visit to the Ministry of Energy and Mining said that he will continue to work on improving cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy in his new capacity.
Naumov pointed to the importance Serbia attaches to marking the 150th birth anniversary of Nikola Tesla and presented to the Swedish Ambassador a book by journalist Keneth Swezey, which is a compilation of congratulatory messages by 75 most memorable personalities of the world which they sent to Nikola Tesla on his 75th birthday, reads the statement.
