Serbian Minister of Education and Sport Slobodan Vuksanovic and Director of the Russian Cultural Centre in Belgrade Vladimir Vasiljevic Kutirin have signed a memorandum on cooperation to develop and successfully continue educational cooperation.

The cooperation will be based on bilingual tuition in primary and secondary schools, strengthening language competencies of teachers through professional advancement and taking examinations within C1 common European framework.
As learning foreign languages is one of the main strategic goals, the Ministry has focused its activities particularly on preservation of the Russian language as one of foreign languages in primary schools in Serbia.
The importance of this memorandum is the fact that economic relations with Russia have been expanded and that Russian companies are showing greater interest in the Serbian market, the statement said adding that Russian remains compulsory subject in Serbian schools.
