Vuksanovic summons state universities' rectors to working meeting

Serbian Minister of Education and Sport Slobodan Vuksanovic invited today all rectors of state universities in Serbia to a working meeting regarding the preparation of a contract for financing higher education institutions.
The Ministry of Education and Sport says in a statement that rectors are under obligation to draft a list of projected funds for all faculties which are part of the their universities, adding that rectors and deans will thus be given the opportunity to have their say in the 2007 budget planning for higher education institutions.
The meeting will be a continuation of joint work of rectors and the resource ministry that at one point led to the adoption of the Law on higher education and the doubling of Serbia's rating when it comes to this sector, reads the statement.
