The EIB loan will be divided in three tranches, of which the first tranche was officially signed on December 8 to the amount of €80 million, the second tranche will be released during 2007 and it will total €70 million, while the third tranche will be realised in 2008, in the amount of €50 million.
This project will enable citizens of Serbia to have in all four clinical centres - in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis and Kragujevac - a modern and functional tertiary health care as of 2010, which entails the highest level of general and specialised health services by European standards.
The promotion of the project "Reconstruction of clinical centres in Serbia 2006-2010" was attended by coordinator of the Ministry of Health Slobodan Lalovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Health Nevena Karanovic, head of the European Commission Delegation to Serbia Josep Lloveras, head of the operational centre of the European Agency for Reconstruction in Belgrade Daniel Giuglaris and director of the Serbian Clinical Centre Vojko Djukic.
Doctors and nurses from the clinical centres in Novi Sad, Nis and Kragujevac also attended the presentation through a video link.
