Police seize 125 kilos of heroin at Tabalije checkpoint

The Serbian Ministry of Interior state today that the police seized 125 kilos of heroin last night and arrested Montenegrin Binak Kalac suspected of illegal production, storage and sale of narcotic substances.
The statement adds that thanks to information gathered in an investigation, the police stopped a Scania truck at Tabalije checkpoint near Novi Pazar driven by Kalac.
The vehicle was searched and 240 packets of heroin wrapped with brown duct tape and weighing 125 kilos were found inside spare tyres.
The seized drug is high quality heroin worth between €5 and €6 million in illegal markets, reads the statement adding that this is one of the largest single heroin seizures so far.
Kalac will be held in custody for 48 hours and then taken before investigating organs, concludes the statement.
