The Serbian inspector for environmental protection made an inspection check at "Petrohemija" and found out that this company did not act in line with the decision issued by the Environmental Protection Directorate on November 1, requesting the company to adjust the dynamics of repumping wastewaters from the gravitational separator of oil wastewaters of Etilen factory (A station) into the factory for water processing in case of unfavourable weather conditions, with the aim of minimising negative effects on the environment.
The Directorate will turn to the Ministry of Interior for help in order to find out who is responsible for the elevated concentration of benzene in the air.
The work of the plant for repumping wastewaters has been suspended.
