The Ministry says in a statement that according to the procedure prescribed by the European Commission regulation No 854/2004 on official control of animal origin products intended for human use, if EU member countries submit no complaints to the proposed list of facilities within 20 week days starting from October 30, the list will be announced at the DG SANCO official web page.
The new list will become effective as of December 11, 2006. Facilities that have been allowed to export fresh beef into EU are Big Bull from Bacinci, Kolbis from Novi Sad, Juhor-Export from Jagodina, Stokoimpeks from Knjazevac and Zlatibor from Cajetina.
After the Ministry's and the Veterinary Directorate's several year long efforts and two visits of EU inspectors to Serbia in 2006, Serbia has finally been recognised as a state that with its supervisory services can ensure an equal safety degree of animal origin food products both to consumers in Serbia and the EU, adds the statement.
