Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, visited today a mobile clinic in Veliko Selo in Belgrade, where he and Minister of Health Zlatibor Lončar, MD, carried out a series of preventive check-ups on residents.
Macut said that RSD 225 million has been earmarked from the state budget for the purchase of the first ten mobile clinics, equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, including an ECG machine, ultrasound and other diagnostic equipment and a laboratory, so that citizens could receive quality healthcare in their place of residence.
The Prime Minister also pointed out that the goal is for citizens not to travel kilometres to reach a doctor, but to receive preventive and medical check-ups, as well as diagnostics, in the places where they live.
We will continue to invest in health infrastructure, equipment, health workers and preventive programmes, because the health of citizens is our most important priority, the Prime Minister added, announcing that the next mobile clinic will be opened in Smederevska Palanka.
Lončar said that the purpose of the mobile clinics is to respond to the needs of citizens who do not live near emergency and clinical centres and hospitals, enable the timely detection of health problems and refer them for further treatment.
