"I invite all citizens of Serbia, members of all national communities and all creeds to jointly and unanimously vote for the new Serbian Constitution and for the welfare of Serbia. We are now taking the fate of our country in our own hands and by voting for the Constitution we will determine the future of Serbia", reads the Prime Minister's public statement.
He stressed that this is an historic opportunity for one people to adopt the country's supreme legal act through their own sovereign and free will.
"The Constitution voted for by the people can only be called the people's Constitution. The new Constitution will make the foundations for Serbia as a democratic and legally ordered state, defend essential national and state interests and underline the territorial unity of Serbia", stressed Kostunica.
He especially called upon Serbian citizens, regardless of their religion or ethnicity, to vote for the Constitution because of Kosovo-Metohija and thus state the consolidated and collective will of the entire country, underlining that no one can seize their country's territory or divide Serbia.
Kosovo-Metohija is Serbia and that is also written in the UN Charter, said the Prime Minister.
He added that by giving their vote for the Constitution, citizens will be voting for their own prosperous future.
