All citizens of Serbia to benefit from new Constitution

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said today that the Serbian government greatly appreciates the goodwill and efforts of leading representatives of various ethnic and religious communities to ensure that Serbia gets a new Constitution, which will be of benefit to all her citizens.

In a statement to the public, Kostunica said that the government of Serbia particularly values that all high dignitaries of the church and religious communities have stepped forward and called upon their followers to support the new Constitution.

We most sincerely and equally appreciate the support of Jozef Kasa, Sulejman Ugljanin and all other representatives of ethnic communities who have called upon people to vote for the Constitution, said Kostunica.

He added that this is a proof of the deep awareness of the need to build, with joint effort, our common state, a home where we and our future generations will live in harmony.

We express sincere and great satisfaction that the process of adopting the Constitution is further strengthening mutual trust and respect among the citizens of Serbia. That is the real reason why these invitations to support the Constitution deserve recognition and respect, and they are in themselves a good guarantee of our joint future, reads the statement by the Prime Minister.
