Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica talked today with representatives of 24 associations of refugees from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Association of internally displaced persons from Kosovo-Metohija, who expressed unanimous support for the new Constitution of Serbia.
Representatives of the associations said that at this moment it is very important that citizens go to the referendum in large numbers and vote for the Constitution.
Kostunica stressed that a constitution is the foundation of every state and that it is very important that it be confirmed at the referendum. He added that this will be the first time a constitution is brought by the people at a referendum.
The Serbian Prime Minister underlined that Kosovo has always been and will always be a part of Serbia and that the preamble of the new Constitution has been literally copied from the most important international act - the UN Charter.
The meeting was also attended by President of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija Sanda Raskovic-Ivic, Director of the Serbian government's Service for Human and Minority Rights Petar Ladjevic and Serbian Deputy Commissioner for Refugees Nikola Vukojevic.
