Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said today in talks with a parliamentary delegation of South Korea, headed by parliament speaker Lim Chae-Jung, that Serbia strongly advocates safeguarding stability in the region.
Kostunica pointed to the fact that while resolving the issue of Kosovo-Metohija Serbia is guided by the fundamental principles of international law which guarantee preservation of the territorial integrity of countries.
He recalled that the solution presented by Serbia – substantial autonomy for Kosovo-Metohija within Serbia, is completely in accordance with the clearly stated principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The Serbian Prime Minister said that Serbian parliament, on the Serbian government’s recommendation, adopted laws which guarantee that investments made in the country will be secure, and added that adoption of the new Constitution will bring stability to Serbia and strengthen economic development.
Lim Chae-Jung stressed that Serbia is the country with the highest economic potential in the Balkans and pointed to the fact that during his visit to Belgrade he has ascertained that the country presents huge economic possibilities. He added that on his return to Seoul he will present Serbia as a good investment target, and expressed expectation that major South Korean companies will come to Serbia.
The collocutors jointly stressed the need to improve cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the area of economy.
