The meeting discussed the implementation of the recommendations from the European Commission’s (EC) Annual Report for 2025, as well as horizontal issues of importance for the negotiation process.
Based on the analysis of the self-assessment of implementation of the recommendations, i.e. the contributions submitted by all institutions, Apostolović assessed that the results should be improved.
He was also informed about the specific activities that have been implemented or are planned to be implemented by the end of August, i.e. the deadline for reporting to the European Commission on progress made during the reporting period.
Apostolović emphasised that further work on the recommendations will continue after this deadline, especially considering that some of them are repeated in several previous EC reports.
He announced that the analysis of the new EC report, which is expected in the autumn, will begin immediately after its publication.
He noted that the analysis must be detailed and clear, present an objective state of affairs and set ambitious yet achievable deadlines for meeting the recommendations.
All participants gave an overview of the situation in their areas, highlighting activities that they believe will be recognised as good results in the new report, as well as those for which additional efforts or overcoming certain challenges are still needed.
