State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nevena Jovanović met in Skopje today, on the sidelines of the 11th Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR), with Italian Minister for European Affairs, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) and Cohesion Policies Tommaso Foti.

Bilateral relations between Serbia, Italy at very high level

During an open and constructive conversation, the interlocutors assessed that bilateral relations between Serbia and Italy are at a very high level, together with intensive political dialogue and close economic cooperation, which has considerable potential for further improvement.
They also discussed the European integration process of the Republic of Serbia and the Western Balkans, highlighting Italy’s strong and continued support to the region’s European path.
Jovanović and Foti agreed that the future of the Western Balkans is in the European Union, noting that continuation of the enlargement process is important both for the region and the overall stability and prosperity of Europe, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
