Naumov talks with European officials in Brussels

The Serbian Ministry of Energy and Mining has stated that Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Radomir Naumov will talk today in Brussels with EU Commissioner for Environment Stavros Dimas and representatives of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe and the Directorate-General for Energy and Transport.

According to the statement, Naumov will inform European officials on the implementation of the initiative for forming a Balkan energy convention, Serbian projects in the energy sector which are of regional significance, future investments in the area of environmental protection in Serbia and support by European funds for these plans.
During the talks the issue of the importance of the Serbian energy sector in designing a regional energy policy for south east Europe will also be discussed, as well as plans for further implementation of the agreement on the Energy Community.
European officials will be particularly informed on what Serbia has done in the previous period for stabilising the energy situation in Kosovo-Metohija. This issue is of special importance in view of the upcoming winter season and the inability displayed until now by the Kosovo Energy Corporation to provide enough electricity for all residents of the province.
Naumov will also present gifts to hosts in Brussels, regarding the marking of the 150th birth anniversary of Nicola Tesla, reads the statement.
