In a statement to B92 television, Kostunica said that at the meeting he will speak about the details of implementation of the Action plan for conclusion of cooperation with the Hague tribunal which will soon lead to the arrest of Ratko Mladic.
I will simply try to demonstrate that Serbia has really done a lot concerning the completion of cooperation with the Hague tribunal, that it works seriously and that this is Serbia's priority. I understand completely why we cannot move on until that issue is resolved, Kostunica said and added that after all, Serbia does deserve a little bit of justice.
I know what is wanted is action, deeds and not words. Regarding that, we are completely satisfied because a lot has been done and what has been done is towards achieving that aim. I think we will reach our goal and then there will be no reason for the negotiations not to be resumed, said Kostunica.
The Serbian Prime Minister stated earlier today in Lazarevac that the EU should show some patience and understanding for Serbia because all that is planned cannot always be realised instantly.
During informal talks with the press in Lazarevac, Kostunica said that Serbia has done everything to complete cooperation with The Hague, adding that Serbia should not be held back because the halt in negotiations with the EU is irrational and damages Europe and Serbia. He reiterated that double standards should not be applied when Serbia is in question.
