Continued support for young people purchasing their first residential property

The Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Bill Amending the Law on Establishing a Guarantee Scheme and Subsidizing Part of the Interest as a Measure to Support Young People in Purchasing Their First Residential Property at its session today, increasing these funds by an additional €300,000,000, which brings the overall amount of loans covered by the guarantee scheme to €900,000,000.

This enables the continued efficient implementation of measures taken to support young people aged 20-35 in buying their first residential property.

This programme is available to all young people in the age group, regardless of their employment status, whether they are employed or unemployed, whether they are farmers, taxpayers liable for income from self-employment activities, or self-employed artists.

The amendments to the law were proposed in light of the fact that young people to whom the law refers have shown strong interest in purchasing their first residential property, whereas the funds earmarked for the total amount of loans covered by the guarantee scheme were insufficient to meet the demand for this type of loan.

Among other decisions and conclusions, the government also adopted resolutions awarding athletes who won medals for Serbia at various European competitions.
