Exchange of experiences with Greece in field of child, youth protection

Belgrade/Athens, 29 April 2026

Minister without portfolio in charge of gender equality, prevention of violence against women and economic and political empowerment of women Tatjana Macura exchanged experiences and good practices in the field of child and youth protection, as well as family support, with Minister of Education of Greece Sofia Zacharaki in Athens today.

The central topic of the conversation was the “I Protect You” platform – the national system of the Republic of Serbia intended for the prevention and response to peer and digital violence.

Macura emphasised that this platform is an example of an integrated approach that connects institutions in the fields of education, social protection, healthcare and internal affairs, with the aim of ensuring a timely response and effective protection of children.

Macura also spoke with Greek Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis about improving reproductive health, preventive policy and the importance of intersectoral cooperation to support young people and families with children.

Investing in young people, their safety and information is one of the key prerequisites for building a stable and healthy society, the interlocutors noted and expressed their readiness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in these areas.
