The Serbian government adopted today a series of decrees, resolutions and decisions in various areas, including decrees related to the implementation of the gender equality policy.
Members of the government adopted the Decree on Establishing the Programme of Financial Support for the Implementation of the Gender Equality Policy for Local Government Units in the Republic of Serbia in 2026, for which RSD 45 million has been provided.
The goal of this programme is to systematically improve the position of women and achieve full gender equality at the local level.
The Decree on Establishing the Programme of Support in the Implementation of the Gender Equality Policy for 2026 was also adopted.
The objectives of this programme are to reduce the incidence of peer violence and gender-based and domestic violence through the implementation of activities that contribute to empowering victims of violence to recognise and respond to violence.
Furthermore, the objectives of this programme are to strengthen the capacity of professionals to recognise and respond to violence, as well as to reduce the gender gap and empower women to participate in political and public life through personal competence development programmes.
A total of RSD 40 million has been provided from the state budget for the implementation of the Programme.
The government also adopted the Programme for the Development of the Circular Economy in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2026-2030, with the Action Plan for the period 2026-2027, which is aligned with the EU acquis.
