At a panel on regional experiences in gender parity in politics and elections, held as part of the seminar “Gender parity: Why it is important and how to make it happen” at the Parliament of Montenegro, Macura emphasised that greater participation of women in decision-making contributes to more inclusive and sustainable policies, both at the national and local levels.
Speaking about Serbia’s experience, she recalled that the country is today recording significant results, including a high position in international rankings for the representation of women in government.
When it comes to further steps towards gender parity, the Minister emphasised that real political will and continuous implementation of existing mechanisms are necessary, while avoiding a declarative approach.
