Programme of support to regional development, entrepreneurship development established

Belgrade, 16 April 2026

The Serbian government adopted today the Decree Establishing the Programme of Support to Regional Development and Entrepreneurship Development, which is realised through a standardised set of services implemented by accredited Regional Development Agencies in 2026.

The programme’s objective is to strengthen the capacity of local government units and small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as to improve their ability to prepare and implement projects financed from domestic and international sources.

Particular emphasis is placed on improving the quality of human resources through training, advisory and mentoring services, which will be available to business entities at the local level.

The programme also envisages support for female entrepreneurship and start-ups, as well as additional assistance to underdeveloped areas in order to reduce regional disparities.

The government members also adopted the Conclusion on the agreement to undertake the necessary activities for the organisation of the Republic of Serbia’s participation in the 68th International Fair of Technics and Technical Achievements, which will be held on 19-22 May 2026 in Belgrade.

The participation of the Republic of Serbia at this event involves presenting national innovations and technological capacities with the aim of strengthening international cooperation in the fields of science and economy.
