The meeting looked at the issues and further steps in cooperation with China, in order to bring together several line ministries and establish teams that would work on planning, coordinating and implementing specific projects.
The assembled teams will analyse existing capacities, infrastructure opportunities and needs of local and state institutions, while also working on strengthening the Serbian brand through the promotion of Serbian companies, production potential, technological innovations and investment opportunities on the Chinese and global markets.
Serbia has great potential for expanding cooperation with China in the sectors of infrastructure, energy, digitalisation, agriculture, tourism and education.
Special emphasis will be placed on initiatives that enable direct Chinese investments in Serbia, as well as joint projects on the Chinese market, especially in the field of technological development, innovation and green energy.
An important topic of the meeting was also the possibility of developing and expanding economic cooperation with the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, given that the current level of exchange is not high, and there is potential for the development of joint investment projects and the exchange of technologies, which would enable the strengthening of Serbia's presence on the North African market.
During his recent visit to Algeria, Prime Minister Macut discussed with the President, Prime Minister and ministers of that country the deepening of cooperation in the areas of the economy, health, tourism, energy, agriculture and education.
The interlocutors emphasised that the Republic of Serbia continues to improve its role in regional and global economic flows, actively works on market diversification and strives to create a favourable business environment for all domestic and foreign investors.
The strengthening of Serbia's international position, through concrete steps and long-term strategies for cooperation with China and other countries of the global East, was also emphasised.
